It’s April in La Plata County which always brings an uptick in listings on the housing market, questions on construction and utilities, and considerations for home owners. Home buyers are constantly asking questions about infrastructure and utilities on every property they look into.

From electric and gas, water and sewer, to cable and wifi, every property is different. In La Plata County, heating and cooling methods can differ greatly changing the cost of utilities used. Water can be city, on a well, or from a serviced cistern. Efforts to expand the availability of city water to the west part of La Plata County are continuing and moving forward. Sewer services are different based on location, and many properties have septic tanks. Broadband services differ based on location.
