In La Plata County, we continue to see the number of homes sold decrease, and the median price point sold increase in most categories. According to the Durango Area Association of Realtors, the county median price jumped from $392,500 in 2017 to $419,000 in 2018.  In the first quarter of 2019, single family homes below 1 million actually dropped in sales price 1.1% and 3.7% in the number of units sold.

Could the market softening? That does not seem to be what La Plata County is experiencing. Demand remains high while inventory stays low.  We continue to see the demand of second homes purchases, and retiring baby boomers seek mild climate and lifestyle options. Durango is ideal for many.
